DESCRIPTION

The Armada Tracer 98 is a playful directional freeride ski that excels in soft snow and off-piste terrain. It would be an excellent day to day ski for those who prefer skiing mixed terrain or who enjoy trying to find the soft stashes at their home resort. It will perform well on firm snow, but this ski's personality really shines through when the conditions are a bit softer, and that can be seen in its shape and construction. Armada uses a hybrid Caruba wood core in the Tracer 98 which helps keep the weight down while maintaining a robust profile that meets the demands and preferences of a more aggressive skier. The Tracer 98 weighs in at about 1,575 grams per ski. Pair its weight with its 98-millimeter waist width and you have an amazing Alpine Touring option, especially for those looking for a hybrid touring setup to use on the resort as well. The early taper in the tip of the ski allows the ski to slice through deeper snow with ease. This distinctive shape along with armada's Adaptive Mesh Technology really create a smooth and quiet feel despite the ski's softer flex. The Armada Tracer 98 would be a great solution for adventurous skiers in search of an everyday off-piste ski.

DETAILS
  • Rocker Type
    • EST All Mountain Rocker – Rocker is paired with tapered sidecuts both tip and tail provide floatation in soft snow as well as forgiveness in turn shape. Camber underfoot maintains edge hold on the hardpack.
  • Flex
    • Flex (1=Soft, 10=Stiff) – Tip: 5 | Mid: 6 | Tail: 3
  • Shape
    • Taper Tops – Beveled top edges shave weight and bulk
  • Core
    • Caruba Core – Armada's lightest wood species keeps the overall weight low while retaining the power and dampness you want while skiing.
  • Laminates
    • Adaptive Mesh – A variable angle weave optimizes vibration damping along the length of the ski to make the ski more damp, stable and tough without adding weight. In the ends of the ski, the weave runs nearly tip-to-tail, filtering chatter and tip bounce. Underfoot, the weave runs nearly side-to-side, filtering vibration introduced through the edges either by ice, bumps and crud. Without additional weight, Adaptive mesh provides a smoother ride.
  • Titanal Binding Reinforcement
  • Sidewalls
    • AR75 Sidewalls – Sidewalls provide improved edge pressure under the boot, while cap constuction in the tip and tail provides smooth turn initiation and less hookiness - 75% sidewall, 25% cap.
  • Base
    • Comp Series Base – Sintered UHMW polyethylene with added carbon aids in speed and durability
  • Edges
    • 1.7 Lightweight Edges
