  • Air Evac2 Ventilation/Goggle Integration
    • At Smith, they design helmets and goggles to work together as a fully integrated system. For the helmet line, the most important factor in integration is the AirEvac ventilation system. This is the bridge that allows goggles and helmets to function as one system, venting warm moist air away from the goggles, through the helmet climate control system and ultimately away from the head.
  • In-Mold Construction
    • A one time industry standard, now In-Mold construction is viewed as the highest quality lightweight construction style. Helmets made with this method will be the lightest on the market.
  • Aerocore Construction
    • The top vents are lined with "green" Koroyd Material that allows for a dramatic increase of air entered and exiting the helmet without compromising safety or performance. This material also absorbs more energy upon impact when tested to international standards.
  • MIPS Helmet Technology
    • MIPS - Multi-Directional Impact Protection System MIPS is a step forward in helmet design. There are three main components to a MIPS-equipped helmet: the interior foam liner, the Low Friction Liner and an elastomeric attachment system between them. In an angled impact, the elastomeric attachment system stretches to allow the foam liner to rotate independently around your head. The goal of this technology is to further reduce rotational forces.
  • In Form Fit System
    • A dial at the lower back of the helmet can be turned tighter or looser to get a custom fit. This also improves the safety of the helmet, as a better fit means the helmet is less likely to slide around during a crash.
  • CPSC Safety Standard
    • CPSC is the newest American safety standard for bicycling and skating, this helmet meets this new standard.
  • CE EN 1077
    • This is a European standard that has performed testing on these helmets to ensure they function as designed, and that they exceed the minimum standards for snow sports. In other words, they dropped heavy objects on the helmets, and they didn't break.
  • Padded Chin Strap
    • Thin padding under the chin prevents chafing and allows for proper fit of the helmet.
  • Snapfit SL Ear Pads
    • Superlight (SL) ear pads are just as warm and quick to snap in or out. Found in top end Smith models.
  • Audio System Ready
    • The earpads of this helmet have zippers that allow the user to input their audio listening device of choice. Skullcandy makes some earpad specific speakers that are very nice, but really any earbuds will fit in there and pump your jamz.
