Skiers looking for playful maneuverability and user friendliness in an all-mountain ski will love the energetic performance of the Liberty Origin 96. The Origin 96 features the same fun-loving profile as years past, but this year it gets a bit of an updated construction. A bamboo and polar wood core topped with a layer of carbon provide a lightweight, snappy and predictable flex per usual, but this year, Liberty has implemented VMT 1.0 which is a vertically laminated strip of Aluminum Alloy that runs from tip to tail. This adds a bit of power and stability to the ski without adding weight and without changing the personality of the ski too much. It still feels like an Origin. This updated construction improves the way the Origin 96 handles carving at higher speeds. There is just a bit more to push into now. Other than that, the ski remains the same throughout. Camber underfoot and an PU sidewall add to the ski's carving capabilities, while tip and tail rocker give the ski a pleasantly maneuverable feel that really suits playful skiers who enjoy mixed terrain. Park skiers will also enjoy the Origin 96 thanks to its pseudo twin tip shape. What's great about this ski in comparison to a true park ski is it performs much better all over the mountain, so when you're on your way to the park or taking some cruiser laps, you can enjoy this thing all over the place. Whether you're a hard charging skier with playful tendencies, or someone who just wants a more playful all-mountain ski, the Liberty Origin 96 would be a fantastic choice.
