DESCRIPTION

The King is in the building, and if you play your cards right it could be under your feet on your home mountain soon. The Marker Kingpin 13 Alpine Touring Ski Bindings finally address the problem of limited elasticity that has plagued tech bindings for years by substituting a pivoting cam-action, spring actuated heel for the traditional dual pin setup, and the results are spectacular. Toe retention is also beefed up with the addition of a third row of springs (traditional tech binding toes use 2). Fully ISO 13992 compliant (Marker has the certificate to prove it), the new Kingpin is the binding freeride touring skiers have been asking for - light enough for long days and big vertical, yet with the reliable performance of a solid alpine binding. Get the Marker Kingpin now and rise to the top of your backcountry fiefdom in one fell swoop.

FEATURES
  • Toe - Kingpin Pintech Toe
  • Heel - XXL Power Transmitter – The revolutionary heel construction has widely placed contact points to hold the boot heel on its outermost edge. This eliminates wobble when initiating turns and transmits power more smoothly to the ski. This is a huge benefit over other pintech binding designs that transmit power via two small metal pins positioned close to one another at the boot's heel, creating an unstable connection for power transfer.
  • Brakes – Two different brakes are available for the Kingpin (75-100 mm ski width and 100-125 mm ski width). Beyond the standard safety features, they are notable for automatically locking into place when in walk mode, and immediately deploy again when the binding is switched into ski mode. The brakes feature a notably large move-in, making them suitable for a large range of waist widths.

  • Additional Features - Wide Footprint for Improved Power Transmission – A wide 38 mm mounting pattern provides better leverage and superior power transmission.
  • Recommended Skier Weight – 130+ lbs
  • Compatible with most ISO 9523 alpine touring boots with tech inserts – (touring boots with shortened toe and heel dimensions like the Dynafit TLT5 and TLT6 and Atomic Backland series require that an additional heel adapter be mounted; heel adapter available separately.)
  • Toe Stand Height – 21 mm
  • Ski Crampons (available separately) – Crampons slide into position at the base of the Kingpin toepiece and are available in widths of 90, 105 and 120 mm.
