The Kastle FX 96 Ti is a versatile all-mountain freeride ski designed to provide a balance of both on trail performance and capabilities in natural terrain as well. The FX collection from Kastle has been around for a few years now and it has seen its fair share of tweaks. This year, it comes back with some metal in its construction giving it the classic Kastle feel of quality and precision. Kastle uses a Triple Wood Core to tailor the flex and torsional stiffness throughout the ski. More specifically, we see denser wood running through the center of the core and lighter wood at the edge. This enhances the ski's performance in soft snow but allowing for a bit more play in the outer portion of the ski. With that said, the 3D shape of the core in the tip and tail helps to retain torsional stiffness, preserving the ski's ability to rip turns on firm snow. This ski would be a great option for advanced skiers looking for a "quiver killer" ski. At 96 millimeters underfoot, it is narrow enough to still carve effectively but it is more than wide enough to handle varying snow conditions including a little bit of soft snow. A bit of rocker in the tip and tail help with that versatility, but they also add a smooth start and finish to the turn as well as the ability to have full control over the type of turn shape you want to make, which is crucial in situations where you might need the edge of the ski to release. These are fantastic skis that really allow you to just enjoy the whole mountain. Very smooth, very stable and not overbearing, these skis would be great for the advanced to expert skier looking for a lot of utility out of their skis.
