How Try Before you buy works

Try Before You Buy lets you test the same skis we sell, helping you choose with confidence before you purchase.

1. Connect with a gear expert in store

A staff member will help you decide which skis will be best to test and set you up for the day.

2. TEST YOUR GEAR FOR $100/DAY

Try out the skis on the slopes to see what you like best. Multiple pairs of skis can be tested in a single day, so you can directly compare and find the best skis for you.

3. APPLY TRY/BUY CREDIT TOWARDS NEW GEAR

If you find your dream setup, you can apply up to 2 days worth of Try Before You Buy fees to the purchase price of a new pair of skis.

What is the Try Before You Buy program?

Skis included in the program are the same models sold in our stores, letting you try before you buy. If you try out a ski, you can apply up to 2 days of the rental fee toward a new ski purchase this season. Try Before You Buy skis are available on a first-come, first-served basis at select locations and cannot be reserved in advance.

How much is the Try Before You Buy fee?

Try Before You Buy costs $100 per day. You can swap out skis during the day for the same flat rate. Plus, you can apply up to 2 days of fees toward a new ski purchase this season.

What is the difference between Demo Rental and Try Before You Buy?

Demo rentals are available at most Christy Sports locations and feature top-performance skis and boards from leading brands. While demo options include high-quality models, they don’t cover all the skis for sale. Select stores also offer Try Before You Buy Skis, which include every model available for purchase, some of which may also be available for demo rental. Try Before You Buy helps customers decide on a purchase, while Demo Rentals are for those seeking the best rental experience without the obligation to buy.

Buying skis is a lot easier when you've already spent a day on them. Try Before You Buy skis are the same models we sell in our stores, so the pair you click into on the hill is the pair you'd take home. Stop in and we'll talk through how you ski and what you're after, then help you decide which skis to test and set you up for the day. If you'd like to see what's available before you commit, find the store closest to you and give us a call.

Compare Pairs in a Single Day

One run tells you something. Three pairs in an afternoon tell you a lot more. For $100 per day, you can swap skis during the day and test several models back to back, which means you're comparing them on the same snow, in the same light, with the same legs under you. That kind of side-by-side is hard to get any other way, and it turns a guess into a decision you feel good about. Come back in whenever you're ready to switch, tell us what you noticed, and we'll get you into the next pair. Trying demo skis this way is honest feedback from your own skiing, not a spec sheet.
